JOEL COLMAN'S PHILOSOPHY:
EACH OF YOU
WILL "GET A BREAK".
Remember:
An Olympic Athlete does not sit on his or her butt waiting for the
next Olympiad four years later. They train constantly. So must the
Actor train constantly to be ready for the Olympic Audition. If
you have not been in a class, a workshop, a film or a play in the
last three months you may be getting stale.
"It is my job to help you with any resistance to success, get your acting muscle up to speed, get you ready to win, get a callback and get the job."
- Small
classes
- Personal
Instruction
- Personal
"Inner work" to remove the barriers that come up between you and
getting the job.
- Cold reading, character
analysis and prensentation, voice production and timing are only a few of the areas studied
- For
the beginning and intermediate actor
- Comedy
is stressed as that is where you develop your timing
- Theatrical
technique is also stressed. When you do a film, you get many chances
to get it right (takes). When you do Television, you usually get
two chances (morning taping and afternoon taping) When you do
Theater you get only one chance to get it right.....that night.
(Tomorrow you get another chance, but for that audience, that
one performance is it) This is why I say, in an audition: YOU
NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE THAT FIRST IMPRESSION -SO GET
IT RIGHT!
- Commercial
technique included so you don't have to take a separate class
- If
you are looking for a small, personalized class at this time,
call for an audit appointment. Three students may audit per evening
on a first-come basis)
